Ryan Coogler's latest film "Sinners," starring Michael B. Jordan, has captivated audiences with its unique blend of genres while subtly delivering messages about spiritual corruption, the music industry, and the dangers of false unity. This vampire-themed musical set in the Jim Crow era presents more than mere entertainment—it serves as a vessel for esoteric messaging that requires spiritual discernment to properly interpret.

Nubreed, founder of Nubreed Global Truth, recently conducted an in-depth analysis of the film, providing viewers with both a cinematic review and a crucial spiritual breakdown of the underlying messages.

"This film is like an old negro vampire musical. And I know that's a very odd combination," Nubreed explained. "I don't like vampire movies. I don't like musicals, and I don't like old negro films. But for some reason, on a movie scale, it worked."

Film's Narrative Reveals Spiritual Parallels

The movie follows twin brothers (both played by Michael B. Jordan) who return to their Mississippi hometown after seven years in Chicago. They bring their blues musician cousin to perform at the opening of a juke joint, where supernatural events unfold involving vampires, music, and spiritual corruption.

Nubreed identified key spiritual themes throughout the film, particularly how it portrays the corruption of talent and the concept of being "tethered" to darkness.

"It showed you that somebody can look like you or look like us but not be us. It shows you how a person can lose their soul," Nubreed stated. "There were a lot of messages about the music industry in a sense because music is what brings us together. And you can keep your spiritual powers through music for righteousness, for good, or you can use it for evil."

Biblical Context and Spiritual Warfare

The film's portrayal of vampirism as a metaphor for spiritual corruption aligns with biblical warnings about spiritual discernment. As written in Ephesians 5:11, Christians are instructed to "have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them."

The movie's theme of "inviting in" vampires parallels spiritual principles about permitting evil influences into one's life. "You have to give a demon permission because just like every other vampire movie, you have to invite them in," Nubreed explained. "Everybody can't be around us. Everybody can't be around you, brothers and sisters. Everybody is just not invited."

Nubreed also highlighted how the film's seeming promotion of unity actually represents a deceptive spiritual agenda: "What they're doing in the film is trying to get is what Satan wants. Really, Satan wants unity because the new world order will be unified... everybody will come together eventually for the one world government."

Elements of Concern: Occult Practices Portrayed

The film contains numerous scenes involving witchcraft, voodoo, and spellcasting—elements that Nubreed cautions viewers about.

"There's a lot of witchcraft. One of the twin brothers was dealing with a whole voodoo priestess," Nubreed warned. "It has hoodoo, voodoo, they talk about spells, they talk about all these things in this film."

He emphasized that while he can discern these elements as dangerous spiritual practices, less spiritually grounded viewers might be influenced: "I believe part of the agenda is to get some of you all to turn to having doing spells and doing protection rituals."

Cinematic Merits

Despite spiritual concerns, Nubreed rated the film a 7.5 out of 10 on purely cinematic merits, praising Michael B. Jordan's acting abilities.

"Michael B. Jordan did his thing. He played himself and he played his twin brother, and you were convinced that it was two different people," Nubreed noted. "When you got a man playing two different people and he can convince you that it's two people watching it, the man is a good actor."

Viewer Discretion Advised

Nubreed strongly cautions that viewers should approach this film with spiritual awareness: "You have to have a strong spirit to watch a film like that. You have to know yourself. You have to know the Most High. And when I say the Most High, I mean the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the most high written of in the holy text."

He reminds his audience that Scripture teaches that a person cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24), and this principle is reflected in the film's portrayal of characters caught between righteousness and darkness.

Nubreed's Final Assessment

While acknowledging the film's entertainment value, Nubreed urges viewers to remain vigilant against spiritual deception.

"Once you learn the truth, once the Most High pours his Holy Spirit within you... you can see everything like a kaleidoscope. You can see it from all angles, all colors, all dimensions. And you know what you're looking at. You know what the agenda is, you know what they're doing."

For those who choose to watch the film, Nubreed advises: "Just know what you're dealing with... If you're spiritually strong, if you're aware, you got eyes to see, and it ain't going to really affect you. But if you're a person who's kind of struggling with certain areas within the spirit... it may get you going left because movies have power."
